Why we built this
When my son needed a new bat for Little League, I figured it would take an evening. It took weeks. His league requires the USA Baseball stamp, and I needed the right length and weight for his size. Every site I found had a "best bats" or "top 10" list, and most of them were selling something, sponsored by a brand, or both. I couldn't tell whose advice to trust, or how to compare bats from one site to the next.
So I gave up on the internet and started asking other parents, and their kids, which bats they liked. In the end a good friend handed down a bat their kid had outgrown but still had plenty of life in it, and my son had a great season with it. Without that bit of luck I'd probably still be clicking through sites, and I likely would have bought the wrong bat.
Fair Ball is the site I wish I'd had. It isn't another top-10 list. It checks your league's rules, sizes the bat for your player, and lays out independent review scores and real prices side by side, with the same formula for every brand. The data is all here so you can make the call yourself.
